Barnsley Gardens Resort

Period inspired free-standing, duplex or quad buildings welcome guests with warm colors, rich woodwork and unique interiors. Each freestanding building is perched along the common green creating a community and all residents get around the massive property by golf cart! Nestled at the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains, the resort is in a fairytale setting surrounded by stunning 19th century ruins and 160-year old gardens that beg to be explored. On-site there are ruins of the original stone structure that graced the gardens and candlelit dinners and drinks can be arranged. The resort reflects the natural design principals of Andrew Jackson Downing, blending nature, themed gardens and historically themed architecture creating a charming and inviting retreat.
